Families and Friends Sharing
From our hearts, we share to comfort and help others.
"My
Father died at the age of sixty nine with cancer of the pancreas.
For seven years this deadly disease hid itself as diabetes, taking
away a little of my dad each day. To see a big strong intelligent
man waste away to a person who could not hold his head up - is
nothing a son and family should ever see. If we could have
been aware of the symptoms early maybe my father would still be
with us today."
- Gary J. Pope
“He was an energetic,
young 63 year old business man balancing his busy work schedule
with traveling and commitment to our community. Simply said,
he enjoyed people and life. As a diabetic, he had it under
control and only his family knew. Over a period of time
his blood sugar began to rise, abdominal pain and back pain developed.
Nausea became frequent. Then one Monday evening, he
was admitted to the hospital. On Friday, he was diagnosed
with pancreatic cancer and 9 days later my husband died.”
